Anti-caking agent microcrystalline cellulose, Corn starch, D-biotin, Surface finishing agent magnesium salts of fatty acids

Warnings/Allergy

Free from lactose, yeast, gluten and sweeteners. A high dose of biotin consumed as a dietary supplement may significantly distort some laboratory results. If possible, it is recommended to take a break of at least one day before the laboratory tests.

Physiological effects

Biotin, or vitamin B7, is a water-soluble vitamin that is necessary for the body, also known as vitamin H. It is not stored in the body, but excess biotin leaves the body with urine.

Biotin has many important effects in the body, e.g. promotes the well-being of hair, skin and mucous membranes and participates in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.

Good nutritional sources of biotin are e.g. egg (especially the yolk), liver, yeast and soybeans. Intestinal microbes also produce biotin for the body’s needs.
Biotin deficiency can cause e.g. skin health disorders, dull hair, brittle nails, loss of appetite and malaise.

EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) has approved the following health claims for biotin:
