A naturally occurring source of omega-3 fatty acids with a very high bioavailability is krill oil. Krill oil’s phospholipid-bound omega-3 fatty acids are more effectively incorporated into cell membranes than fish oil’s triglyceride-bound omega-3s.

Natural choline included in krill oil supports healthy cholesterol and homocysteine metabolism as well as the preservation of normal liver function.

Astaxanthin, which is virtually exclusively found in esterified form, is also present in krill oil. It gives the oil its red color and is a very effective antioxidant with anti-inflammatory qualities.

The absence of fish burps or a fishy aftertaste is one of the benefits of krill oil.

Little crustaceans known as krill, which are zooplankton, are found in large flocks in the ocean. The ecosystem of the Arctic Ocean has a significant collection of these creatures.

According to estimates, the biomass of krill is twice that of people. An environmentally friendly and clean source of Omega-3 fatty acids is krill oil.

There is little concern of overfishing because of the amount of biomass and the carefully monitored and managed captures, plus krill are higher in the food chain than fish.
